I don't mall shop often but needed to grab a few gifts and wanted to check a place that had at least 2 department stores. This mall has changed since I last visited before 2020. Many of the smaller stores I remember are gone but the dated looking mall surprisingly still had many stores occupied. Three major anchor stores remain (JC Penney, Dillard's, and Belk) and various other stores and a food court. It was pretty empty on a weekday, easy access to the highway, and plenty of parking. Surrounding area has other places to shop too, including Target, Home Goods and Five Below a quick drive away (5 minutes).

I took my grandkids birthday shopping here a couple of weeks ago. It was a nice little day of fun. We went to Bath and Bodyworks for something to make us smell exquisite. We got some great deals buy 3 get 3. Next window shopping, then lunch at Sbarros, with some bobo tea. Then we got some freeze dried snacks, the best ones were the skittles. The gentleman at the freeze dried snacks let us sample a few flavors and candies before making our choices. We finished up shopping then it was time to go. Long day and we closed the mall. It was busy but not to much so. No riff raff or shenanigans going on. It was a nice family afternoon. I recommend a little retail therapy at The Avenues!!!

What a great mall! Two levels with great variety and specialty shops throughout. It feels safe and fun. Love the coffee shop with the Lavazza coffee which is really hard to find in most cities. It was also fun that they still had the Christmas decorations up.
